Introduction - Hi! I’m Rohail and I hold a bachelor’s degree (Carleton University) and a master’s degree (University of Ottawa) in biomedical and mechanical engineering. I’ve lived most of my life in Ottawa and my passion for teaching began early, when I first started tutoring math to my peers in high school. That passion never faded. Over the years, I continued tutoring privately, working with students of all ages and academic levels.

Experience - I have more than 10 years of tutoring experience and hundreds of hours helping students build confidence in mathematics. I am also bilingual (English and French). In addition to private tutoring, I have served as a teaching assistant at both Carleton University (School of Mathematics and Statistics) and the University of Ottawa (Faculty of Engineering), supporting undergraduate students in mastering complex STEM concepts. These roles strengthened my ability to break down difficult topics, communicate clearly, and meet learners where they are — skills that now form the backbone of my teaching philosophy. I also have experience tutoring students with neuro-developmental and learning disorders.

Mission - With a subject like math, regular practice is crucial to success. Guided by this belief, and motivated by the lack of high-quality, readily accessible and in-person math support for Ontario high-school students, I founded Better Learning — an all-inclusive math learning centre designed specifically for high school students. Better Learning’s mission is to make academic support more accessible, engaging, and effective for the students of today. My goal is simple: to give students a space where they strengthen their math skills not by memorizing formulas or copying answers, but by truly understanding the concepts — and in doing so, becoming confident, capable problem solvers.
