1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Better Learning website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

2. Eligibility

  • Our tutoring services are designed for students ages approximately 14–18 (typical ages for students in grades 9-12).

  • Parents/guardians must create the membership and provide consent for minors under 18.

  • By purchasing a membership, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian approval.

3. Membership & Payments

  • Memberships are billed monthly at the posted rate on our website.

  • Fees are non-transferable and non-refundable except as described in our ‘Cancellation & Refunds’ section below.

  • Payments are processed securely through our website. 

4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Memberships may be cancelled at any time, but access continues until the end of the billing cycle.

  • Better Learning does not provide prorated refunds for unused time.

  • Any promotional offers are time-limited and subject to change.

5. Satisfaction Guarantee

At Better Learning, we want every student and parent to feel confident in their choice. That’s why we offer a 7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee for all new members. If you’re not completely satisfied after using our service within the first 7 days of your subscription, you may request a full refund—no hassle, no questions asked.

Eligibility:

Applies only to first-time subscribers of Better Learning.

  • The refund request must be made within 7 calendar days of your subscription start date.

  • Renewals and returning subscribers are not eligible for this offer.

How to Request a Refund:

To request your refund, simply email us at info@betterlearning.ca with your full name, account email, and the reason for cancellation (optional). Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.

After 7 Days:

All subscriptions become non-refundable once the 7-day guarantee period has ended. You may, however, cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future renewals.

6. Scheduling & Attendance

  • Tutoring sessions are booked through our online scheduling platform.

  • Each membership provides access to tutoring sessions during operating hours (Sun–Thurs, 5–9 PM EST).

  • Missed sessions are non-refundable.

7. Zoom & Online Conduct

  • All sessions are delivered virtually via Zoom. Links are provided upon booking.

  • Links are unique and must not be shared. Sharing links may result in termination of membership without refund.

  • Students must behave respectfully during sessions. Disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the session.

  • Students and Guardians are expected to communicate respectfully with tutors. Any behaviour deemed inappropriate or abusive by Better Learning may result in termination of services without refund.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Any lesson materials provided by Better Learning are for personal educational use only.

  • You may not record, copy, distribute, or resell any tutoring sessions or lesson content without written permission from Better Learning.

9. Limitation of Liability

Better Learning strives to provide high-quality services but does not guarantee specific academic outcomes. We are not responsible for:

  • Technical issues (internet, Zoom downtime, etc.)

  • Any damages arising from use of our services

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in Ottawa courts; however, we encourage parties to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us before pursuing legal remedies.

11. Third Party Services

Better Learning uses third-party platforms including Squarespace, Acuity Scheduling, and Zoom to deliver it's services. By using our services, you also agree to comply with the applicable terms and policies of these providers.

12. Force Majeure

Better Learning is not liable for interruptions due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, power outages, or internet disruptions.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted here on our website, and continued use of our services means acceptance of those changes.
